Minister for Education Norma Foley chatted with Damien Tiernan this morning about a wide variety of issues relating to her Department, including the roll-out of free secondary school books in September; the first ever national online survey of what patronage parents want for their local school; reforming the Leaving Certificate with new subjects and new assessments; and promoting voluntary agreements for parents not to buy smartphones for their children while they are in primary school.
She also touched on the recent announcements relating to education in County Waterford.
