A Dungarvan woman has written to the Minister for Justice looking for help into the unsolved death of her brother.

Joseph “Joey” Moroney died in Bohadoon in 1982 in an apparent hit-and-run.

His sister Kathleen Troy wants the Minister to let the family see an internal Garda report which was completed just before Christmas.

Gardai have said they would meet family members but that the report is an internal one and would not be available to the the family.

Kathleen has now written to Helen McEntee to see what she can do as she is very frustrated by the entire process.

This morning (Friday), Damien Tiernan recapped on the story of Joey on 'Deise Today' - and he spoke to Kathleen about her upset and frustration over the current situation.

"It never goes away. it's like it happened yesterday. When it's your own family it's every day," Kathleen told Damien.
