WATERFORD Minister Mary Butler has revealed a credible threat was made on her life over the summer months.
A threat was sent to her constituency office by an email, she told Damien Tiernan on 'Deise Today' this morning (Friday).
Gardai were involved and the Minister was advised not to travel alone and to take increased security measures.
She also told Damien that the sender of the email has still not been identified.
The Minister for Mental Health and Older People was on the programme talking about the far-right protests at Leinster House this week, which included the erection of a mock-gallows covered with images of political figures.
