A plan that presents a vision for Portlaw's future and also a series of exciting projects that could be progressed, has been launched.

The draft 'Portlaw Town Centre First Plan' has been unveiled in recent days and locals in the area are now being encouraged to give their feedback via a public consultation process.

The draft document has been launched by Waterford City and County Council in conjunction with the Portlaw Town Team (comprised of local residents and business owners, with input from local representatives).

It has been developed with the help of leading urban designers, the Paul Hogarth Company, and architects Hall Black Douglas, and includes proposals for new community facilities, active travel connections and civic spaces, all designed to complement the future restoration of Mayfield House and the former Portlaw tannery.

The public can view the draft plan online at www.waterfordcouncil.ie/PortlawTCF and can also complete a short online survey by Thursday, September 28.

On 'Deise Today' this morning (Tuesday), Damien was joined by local Independent councillor Declan Clune, and James Hennessy from the Paul Hogarty Company, to talk about the draft plan.
