WATERFORD Independent TD Matt Shanahan has refused to be drawn on whether he will support Simon Harris for Taoiseach.

Newspaper reports today (Wed) says the new FG leader has already spoken to a number of Independent TDs regarding their voting intentions.

Speaking on 'Deise Today' this morning, Matt Shanahan said he has not yet had an approach from the would-be Taoiseach.

He told Damien Tiernan that he would be receptive to talking to Minister Harris - but it was all about what would be delivered for Waterford, as per promises previously made in the Programme for Government on Waterford Airport and  24/7 cardiac care at UHW.
