Life, love and football!!!!
This morning (Friday), Damien featured in-depth and revealing interviews with Brian and Darryl Murphy (no relations) who have announced their retirement from football.
Brian is calling time on his 23-year career at the age of 39 as the veteran Waterford goalkeeper feels the time is now right for a change.
He joined Manchester City at the age of 17 and played at Swansea, Ipswich, and Portsmouth, as well in the Premier League with both Queens Park Rangers and Cardiff.
Brian was on Deise Today this morning with Daryl Murphy, who himself spent 15 years across the water with Sunderland, Ipswich Town, Celtic, Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Bolton Wanderers.
He came back to Waterford two years ago but reveals how he has now retired from professional football due in no small part to getting Covid during the pandemic.
The special feature also included input from former Manchester United start John O’Shea and current assistant manager at Derry City Alan Reynolds….a must-listen not just for football fans but for those who want to know how intense careers can be balanced with family life!
