A section of the N25 between Carroll's Cross and the Carrick Road roundabout was closed early this morning (Thursday) following a collision.
Two drivers, one male and one female, did not sustain serious injuries in the collision, which happened between two cars at around 6.20am. Diversions were put in place, sending traffic to Portlaw.
However, a resident of Kilmeaden's High Road described chaotic scenes as much of the traffic opted to take that route instead, with large volumes of traffic, including lorries, at a standstill on the long, narrow road for much of the morning.
Niamh Kearns spoke to Maria McCann on 'Deise Today'.
