AFTER four years in charge, Grace Rothwell has departed her role as General Manager of UHW.
As of this morning (Monday), she takes on the role of Chief Officer with South East Community Healthcare, based out of Kilkenny where she is from.
In her four years at the helm of UHW, Grace Rothwell steered the hospital through the very difficult Covid times and has widely praised for her leadership and professionalism during this period.
From the Castlecomer area of Kilkenny where she still lives, Grace has worked in health services since 1994 in a variety of roles and places, including the Coombe, St James’ Hospital, nationally with the HSE and South Tipperary.
She took up the position of UHW General Manager in January 2019.
The Deputy General Manager/Operations Manager at the hospital, Ben O'Sullivan, is stepping into the new General Manager role on an interim basis.
This morning, Grace Rothwell spoke to Damien Tiernan on 'Deise Today' about her new position as well as her four years at UHW.
