THE eyes of Waterford will be firmly focussed on all-things Augusta over the coming days as Seamus Power becomes the first Munster man to ever compete in the US Masters...

The Touraneena native is one of four Irishmen that will be teeing up at the prestigious tournament in the coming days, to the great pride of his native village and West Waterford Golf Club which is Seamus' home club.

This morning (Wednesday) on Deise Today, Pat Murphy and John Walsh, both from WWGC, joined Damien Tiernan in studio in Dungarvan to chat about this remarkable achievement for the Waterford man who carries the hopes of the county on his shoulders in Augusta.

However, both men have also known Seamus - and been a part of his life -  since he was just a young child so were able to share many a story from his childhood days golfing.

For them, his achievements are an immense source of personal pride.

And needless to say, they'll be glued to the TV screens in the coming days so see how the young man they mentored for many a year is faring!....
