As storm Ciarán approaches Irish shores, people are being advised to take caution.
A Status Yellow Rain Warning will take effect for Waterford from 7 o'clock this evening until 7 AM tomorrow morning, with the possibility of high river levels that may lead to flooding.
Ground conditions remain saturated across the county, with intense flooding in Waterford in recent weeks having caused extensive damage.
Speaking on Deise Today, Director of Services for Roads, Water and Environment with Waterford City & County Council, Fergus Galvin, said damage costs are extremely high.
"We estimate there is something in the region of €5m worth of damage to our road network in the past few weeks. A tremendous amount of damage has been caused to the west of the county."
