It's the end of an era for the McAlpin family who served their last sit-down customers at The Suir Inn this past weekend - after a whopping 51 years.
The popular Cheekpoint bar and restaurant which was renowned for its fresh seafood, has been sold to new local owners.
Frances McAlpin spoke to Damien Tiernan on Deise Today this morning (Tuesday) about her decision to sell on the business, saying she had many, many happy memories from over 50 years at The Suir Inn.
Thought it has been in the ownership of the McAlpin family since 1971, the Inn itself goes back a lot further as it was originally built in the 17th century.
It has been an inn, in fact, for almost 300 years!
