The community of Dunhill is preparing for a big event at their GAA grounds over the June Bank Holiday to honour Tom O'Brien who was educated in Dunhill NS and who died in the War of Independence.

A well known and very popular member of the Dunhill GAA club, the event is to mark his 100-year anniversary and is planned for Friday, June 3.

There's going to be a talk by well-known historian Pat McCarthy, and the book 'A History of Dunhill GAA', by Senan Cooke will be launched.

On Deise Today this morning (Monday), Damien was joined by David Veale, chair of the committee for the special event, as well as Senan Cooke.
