Dungarvan Rugby Club is hosting the Barry Hayes Memorial Fundraiser this Saturday April 8th in memory of club member Barry Hayes from Kilnafrehan Middle and Garranbane, Dungarvan, who sadly died of cancer in March 2022 aged 38.
The day will include a juvenile rugby blitz, a senior men's exhibition match, BBQ, live music and the auctioning of a signed Ireland rugby Grand Slam jersey - with all funds raised on the day going to the Solas Centre and Waterford Hospice.
An online fundraising page has already raised more than €7,000.
WLR spoke with Barry's wife Sarah and his brother Mark about Barry and about the services provided to them by Waterford Hospice and the Solas Centre, particularly through the centre in Dungarvan.
