Dungarvan woman Noeleen Crossan suffers from Motor Neurone Disease and is aged just 54.

On February 20 next, she is hoping to climb up to Cruchain Cross overlooking Dungarvan...a short, steep hike which would be relatively easy for most people but will be a challenge for Noeleen whose physical condition continues to deteriorate from her condition.

By doing this, Noeleen says she is trying to replicate - albeit on a smaller scale - the fantastic April 2 climb to Croagh Patrick which is being undertaken by Charlie Bird, former RTE news correspondent, who is also suffering from the disease.

Noeleen believes in enjoying every minute and told Damien Tiernan on Deise Today this morning (Wednesday) that she is grateful to be living a good life and having wonderful supportive family, friends and carers around her...

You can support Noeleen's climb by going to the website of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association and donating to the 'Climb With Charlie' page...
