Dick Tubritt was listening to Damien talking about the Siege of Waterford during the week and got in touch in relation to memorabilia he has.
He joined Damien in studio to show and discuss the Civil War, which was 100 years ago this week.
Dick has his grandfather's discharge papers from the Free State Army. In October 1922 George Tubritt enlisted in Griffith Barracks in Dublin.
He fought during the Civil War but Dick is unsure as to where. On the 10th of July 1023, he was disbanded from the Army.
George was a great admirer of Micheal Collins and was convinced he would solve all of Ireland's problems.
Despite this, George held no bitterness towards Anti-Treaty forces as he believed that everyone did what had to be done.
Dick and Damien discussed the death of Micheal Collins, in which Dick described it as a tragedy but that Micheal was partially responsible for his own death.
George Tubritt died in the 1960s when Dick was just a young man.
