Following another dreadful weekend on Irish roads with the loss of five lives countrywide, Inspector Niall Daly, Inspector responsible for Road Policing, spoke on Déise Today this morning (Monday, Oct 16) to highlight the importance of road safety as we come into winter months.

Inspector Daly discussed the high level of road fatalities that are a result of speeding as well as issues such as the importance of wearing a seatbelt and making yourself visible on the roads during dark winter nights.

He also spoke about the issue of mobile phone usage while driving.
