FIANNA Fail councillor Adam Wyse has announced his hopes to run for Fianna Fail in the upcoming General Election.
Speaking exclusively on 'Deise Today' this morning, the 30-year-old who is 11 years a councillor, confirmed he is letting his name go forward for nomination.
The FF party is currently seeking names for nomination.
Adam Wyse told Damien Tiernan he has been told by "a number of party members" that they are nominating him, and he - in turn - is happy to accept this.
It means his name will be in the ring at the upcoming FF local selection convention where the party will decide how many candidates will run for election and who they will be.
As is stands, Mary Butler is the serving FF TD for Waterford.
Adam Wyse told 'Deise Today' this morning that he has been in touch with the Minister to inform her of his decision to throw his hat into the ring,.
Mary Butler, in a statement to WLR, said it would be "completely inappropriate for her to comment during an open process for FF members to nominate candidates, until the nominations close".
