Damien paid a visit to Dungarvan Sports Centre, where Ukrainian people, mostly women and children, are being housed.

The refugees, who are fleeing war, are sleeping in an open plan area in the building.

A major operation involving the Civil Defence and other volunteers has been put in place to accommodate the displaced people, with clothes, donations and toilet facilities all available.

Medical help is also on site.
