The Thomastown man joined Damien in studio on Déise Today.

"Waterford is one of those cities where you might not think that things have changed, but they have. Some of it for the better, and there are other areas where things could be made better. The City Centre needs a little TLC, but in generally the City has improved in my opinion."

Michael went on to say that the Viking Triangle is a great part of Waterford and tourists love it. He also paid tribute to the Greenway, which he considers a great addition.

"Places like Dunmore East, places like Tramore, people who visit Waterford absolutely love them, and we take them for granted," he added.

He also discussed with Damien the fact that the hospitality VAT rate of 9% has been extended to 2023.
