Joe Kelly, Independent Waterford Councillor, spoke to Damien to give his take on the Mount Suir Apartment situation.

Cllr Kelly says he will be raising a lot of the matters discussed with Damien in this conversation at the next Council meeting on Monday.

He began by responding to Ivan's comments yesterday and by apologising to any of the residents who are currently living in the Apartments.

Cllr Kelly has visited Block C and says it was very damp. He says this situation needs urgency and should not be "brushed under the carpet."

He outlined what questions he will be raising at the meeting, one of which will be in relation to the terms and conditions outlined in the residents' contract.

Some of the residents have had to pay over €10,000 to fix damages caused by excess water and condensation.

Damien discussed the fact that those living there have been texting in their concerns in relation to their own and their children's safety.

People living in the apartments have been crying and stressed as they feel if they leave, they will have nowhere to go.

Cllr Kelly believes a lot of matters need to be looked at in terms of answering questions and compensation for any payments made in relation to apartment damages.
