There's been a very positive uplift in the commercial property market in Waterford, according to a local estate agent.

Keith Palmer of Palmer Auctioneers said the sale of City Square Shopping Centre and a new owner in situ also for the Ferrybank Shopping Centre is all very good news for Waterford and both its commercial and residential property markets.

This week, it was confirmed that Wexford-based William Neville & Sons have signed contracts in recent week to purchase the City Square Shopping Centre with the sale - for approx 18m -  due to be completed within days.

The company, who also own the city's Tower Hotel, have bought the premises from Marathon Asset Management who paid 21m for it in 2015.
