A planning application for the construction of almost one hundred new homes at Ballinakill has been refused by Waterford City and County Council.
The application had sought permission for the construction of forty-five detached and semi-detached houses and forty-five self-contained apartments.
The application was submitted by Sanpol Developments Limited and was refused for six reasons.
This morning (Monday) on 'Deise Today', Damien was joined in studio by Eoghan Hartery, a Ballinakill resident, who had been opposed to the housing plan.
He spoke of his relief at the decision that has been taken by the council - and the big decision it was for him, in the first place, to put in an objection.
