"Valentine's Shmalentines," many might say.
Is February 14th a day for lovers everywhere, or a cringeworthy event that most people choose to ignore?
On Déise Today, Maria spoke to Relationship Counsellor David Kavanagh, about whether or not it's important to mark the day.
Her first question to David was "Is it just a Hallmark holiday?"
His response was that it very much depends on the couple, stressing that if one person cares about it, then the other should respect that and mark it.
Maria also asked David if he agrees with her theory, that the key to relationships is compromise? He said he absolutely agrees, and finding compromise is a huge part of his counselling sessions.
She also got his thoughts on whether "six meaningful chats, three long walks and two big rows a month" is the key to a good relationship, as a recent study suggests?!
