GARDAI have this week renewed their appeal for information regarding the accident which claimed the lives of two local teens on the Cork Road on June 27.
Gilbert Collins (15) was killed instantly and his friend Avuzwa Idris (17) died later in hospital after an e-scooter they were travelling on was in a collision with a bus in the early hours of June 27.
The two boys were laid to rest last week.
Gilbert was a young student of St Paul's Community College in Lisduggan and his friend Avu had just recently completed his Leaving Cert at De La Salle College.
The untimely deaths of the two popular and much-loved teens sent shockwaves through the community in Waterford and further afield.
Gardai this week urged any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the Cork Road in Waterford city between 1:45am and 2:15am to make this footage available to them.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Waterford Garda Station on 051 305 300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
This week, 'Deise Today' paid tribute to the two boys who made a big impression on all who knew them in their short lives.
Damien also spoke to the Collins' family in their home in Waterford city.
