The Irish Wake Museum is officially now open in Waterford's Cathedral Square.
The oldest urban domestic building in Ireland is now home to the Irish Wake Museum which traces the customs, traditions and superstitions associated with death through the ages.
Officially opened last Friday, it is the newest addition to Waterford Treasures, the only dedicated Museum Quarter in Ireland.
To celebrate, Oillie and Dymphna on The Big Breakfast Blaa have got 2 passes for the Irish Wake Museum AND a Freedom of Waterford Pass up for grabs each day this week.
This pass allows entry to the Medieval Museum, Bishop’s Palace, Time Museum, Silver Museum and the Epic Walking Tour.
The museum is a sensitively curated fully guided tour exploring life and death, traditions and superstitions surrounding death in Ireland.
Beginning with a unique audio-visual experience, visitors are taken on a fascinating journey through six rooms. Chronologically exploring Irish cultural traditions from the 15th to the 20th century.
Waterford Treasures will donate €1 from each admission ticket to the Waterford Hospice Movement.
