WLR has come away with one of the top awards from the first ever Irish Audio Awards.
The ceremony took place in Smock Alley Theatre in Dublin on Thursday night, hosted by Newstalk broadcaster and journalist, Seán Moncrieffe.
The Déise Today Climate Change Special (which also won an IMRO Radio Award in 2022) was crowned the winner of the Broadcaster Category.
WLR was the only station, local or national, to win one of the audio awards, which are being run by Radiocentre Ireland and the ICAD.

Established by the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland and RTÉ, Radiocentre Ireland is setting out to showcase the unique strength and power of audio.
This accolade comes the day before a Civic Reception in Waterford, which is being held in recognition of the station being named 'Ireland's Local Station of the Year' by an IMRO judging panel for four years running.
