Farmers in West Waterford are being advised to secure their property.
Two separate burglaries took place recently with tools and equipment being stolen.
Crime Prevention Officer, Sergeant Deirdre O'Neill gave the details on this week's WLR Waterford Garda Watch.
"We had two thefts of tools from two separate farm sheds," Sergeant O'Neill explained, "The first occurred on a Monday night, sometime after 11.45pm when a number of items were stolen from a farm shed in Drumroe in Cappoquin.
"There were two Stihl consaws and an impact drill stolen from that premises.
"The second then happened in the very early hours of the 9th of August (a Tuesday), at 3.30am, in Ballinamult near Ballymacarbry.
"In this instance, a power-washer and a leaf-blower were stolen."
Both burglaries occurred less than half an hour's distance from each other.
Sergeant O'Neill is urging people to be on the lookout for the stolen items:
"Some of these items have registered serial numbers so we're asking people if they've been offered any of these items for sale, to contact us in Dungarvan Garda Station.
"Also, farm-owners in that area [should] consider securing their property, particularly over the next couple of weeks."
