Well known billionaire purchases estate in Co. Waterford

A well-known estate in Co. Waterford has been scooped up by a popular UK-based businessman.

The Irish Examiner is reporting one of Britain's richest men, James Dyson, hoovered up the estate in the region of 30 million euros, one of Ireland's most expensive private home sales to date.

The Ballynatry Estate located near Youghal was officially recorded on Ireland's Property Price Register this week.

James Dyson is best known as the founder of the Dyson brand, which makes several household electrical items.

Reports have also shown that the wider Dyson family is worth in the region of 20 billion euros, made up of real estate among other investments.

The Ballynatry Estate has been sold by its owner London and Waterford-based Henry Gwyn-Jones, who purchased the property 20 years ago for 11 million euros, three times less its current value.
