A Dungarvan national school has applied for permission to building a two-storey extension.
Scoil Mhuire National School in Abbeyside intends to build a two-storey extension to the side of the existing building on Sheares Street, Abbeyside.
The 471 capacity school which has been in existence since 1891 also intends to construct a single-storey extension and alterations to the rear of the building.
The single-storey buildings currently in use are proposed to be demolished.

The school's Board of Management has applied to the planning department of Waterford City and County Council for permission for the development.
A decision on the works is due on or before March 7.
