A 34-year-old man will appear in court via video link today charged with the murder of a woman in Waterford City.
Marcus O'Neill, with an address at 15 O'Brien St in Waterford City made no reply at Gorey District Court on Sunday evening - when charged with the murder of 47-year-old Gillian Curran on Saturday, January 25th.
Gillian Curran was found dead at a residence on O'Brien St, Waterford City. She was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.
O'Neill (34) will appear before Waterford District Court today via video link.
A senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the investigation and an incident room has been established at Waterford Garda Station.
A family liaison officer has also been assigned to support the family.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them and are seeking any available camera footage, including dashcam recordings, from those who were in the vicinity of O’Brien St at the time of the incident.
