A Waterford mother is at risk of homelessness after she received a letter from the council saying she is not entitled to social housing.
Sophie Walsh, lives in her family home in Saint Herblain Park with her four children.
She has been told she's not entitled to affordable housing because she does not have enough of an income.
Sophie was told to look for HAP property instead.
The house she is in has always been Sophie's family home.
She says her father died in one of the rooms and she was told she could keep the house.
"We've nowhere to go and we're scared for the children. All we want is the best for them," she said on Déise Today this morning.
Sophie also told Damien about the conditions her and her children have to live in.
For over a year, Sophie has had no bins. Water has been leaking near electricity points, and she has no shower.
"They just kept putting it on the longer finger saying they'll help us and now they're saying that we have to leave," she told Damien.
Sophie says her children are very upset and do not want to move house.
