A Waterford man climbing Kilimanjaro with a washing machine on his back didn't make it to the top of the mountain, but the kitchen appliance did.

Enda O'Doherty had to turn back just three hours from the summit when he fell victim to altitude sickness.

But his team made sure the washing machine still made it to the top.

The campaign raised over 170-thousand euro for suicide charity Pieta House.
