As we head towards Christmas this coming weekend, we're being urged to shop local where possible this week.
The weekend just gone is traditionally the busiest shopping weekend in the Christmas period.
However, many people will be picking up their last minute presents in the coming days.
Speaking to WLR, Jacqui Gaule of Waterford Local Enterprise Office says you can also order online from local businesses.
"If people enjoy shopping sitting at home, you can still do it while supporting local," she said.
When people shop local, the whole community, as well as the shopper, benefits.
When shopping locally, you pay less for shipping fees and avoid customs fees altogether.
You are also helping local businesses and people.
"You're keeping people in jobs," Jacqui said.
