A Garda has been injured after an incident involving a stolen vehicle in County Waterford in the early hours of this morning.
At approximately 2.50am, a car failed to stop for Gardaí in Kilmeaden who were investigating the theft of a vehicle.
A member of An Garda Síochána was injured during the incident and taken to University Hospital Waterford where he was treated for his injuries.
However, Gardaí have told WLR News this evening that he has since been released from hospital.
The car in question was found in Ballybeg Park a short time later.
Three males and two females, aged in their late teens and early 20s, were arrested as a result.
One man, in his 20s, has since been charged and is due to appear before court at a later date.
The other four have been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
