A local Councillor has called for a Compulsory Purchase Order to be carried out on The Yellow House site in Waterford.
The unsightly condition of the former bar was highlighted at this week's Metropolitan District meeting.
Fine Gael Councillor Frank Quinlan outlined the potential of the prominent Cork Road location.
"I think it's a prime location with massive potential for some sort of development to take place," he said.
He added that there is a 20-car carpark right beside the building making it an "ideal location."
In response, Hazel O'Shea from the Council's Planning Department said a detailed update in relation to derelict sites will be provided by the Council shortly - and will include an update on The Yellow House.
