Waterford City and County Council has urged the public to be alert to a "gang" following their roadworks crew in the West Waterford area.
The local authority says the gang is offering to do works for members of the public with materials they state are left over from the Council's roadworks job nearby.
Waterford Council says it will never offer to do works for a private resident and asks the public to be vigilant.
