Waterford's Helping Hand charity was given a Mayoral reception at City Hall on Friday.
The event, hosted by Mayor John O'Leary, recognised the efforts of volunteers who strive to help the homeless in the city.
Committee member Stephanie Keating told WLR News that they appreciated the gesture.
"We want to thank Mayor John O'Leary and the councillors that supported us.

"It was a fantastic acknowledgment for the committee, particularly for our amazing volunteers.
"There was a sense of appreciation on the day."
