Uise Eireann is to commence its latest water mains replacement programme in Portlaw this week.
The project is aimed at providing a more reliable water supply for the community and a reduction in high levels of leakage.
Following the successful replacement of over a kilometer of water mains on the R680 late last year; Uisce Éireann, working in partnership with Waterford City and County Council, is replacing an additional old water mains with new modern pipes in Portlaw.
The works will commence this week and are being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann’s National Leakage Reduction Programme.
The section of works will take place on the R680 from the junction with Coolfin Meadows heading west.
The works are expected to be completed by mid-April.
Traffic management will be in place during this time, in the form of a stop/go, one-lane system. Hours of work will be seven am to seven pm Monday to Friday.
