It’s Culture Night tonight, Friday 20th September with free events and exhibitions all across Waterford.

The night celebrates culture, creativity and the arts across Ireland with 27 events taking place in Waterford.

Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir is a national moment, celebrating all that makes up the richness and diversity of Culture in Ireland today, connecting people to cultural activities locally and nationally and aims to open up pathways to ongoing engagement.

Jean and Ellenor Upton of the Waterford Centre of Music are spearheading a special gig in the City.

It's under the moniker of 'Waterford - The Musical' and takes place on the stage in the Cultural Quarter on O'Connell Street. The show runs from 8 to 10pm.

Reflecting on how much effort is required to pull off an event such as 'Waterford - The Musical', Jean said:

"Everyone was delighted to get on board. At any one time you have several shows in place, all being rehearsed at any one time."
