Damage to children's amenities in Waterford City remains an issue, according to Councillor Frank Quinlan, who has posted photos online of vandalism in the People's Park.
The swing chair which caters for children in wheelchairs had glass smashed on it earlier this week.
"It's an ongoing issue, especially with the kids being off school [for the Easter break] and they have little to be doing," Councillor Quinlan told WLR News.
"It is very, very disappointing to see such behaviour after the new disabled swing was installed only recently."
CCTV still cannot be installed for the purpose of monitoring public amenities like the park because, as reported last month, there are still a number of steps to be taken at national and government level before that can happen.
"I was suggesting that CCTV and more lighting be installed in the park," Councillor Quinlan said, "but I think with GDPR there are laws around that and the council are looking into that."
On those responsible for the damage, he says they are simply wasting council resources:
"They are a menace to society altogether. It's terrible to see.
"The amenities crew has to clean up after these people and it is actually occupying their time when they could be putting that time into other things."
Anyone with information on the incident can contact Waterford Garda Station on 051 305 300.
