Three of Waterford's four neighboring counties have now been upgraded to a status orange weather warning.
Met Éireann is forecasting heavy spells of sleet and snow in all of Leinster and Connacht, as well as Tipperary and Clare.
While the warning for some of those counties is in effect from now, the orange alert for most of Leinster and Tipperary takes effect from 9 tonight.
Lying snow and sub-zero temperatures are a strong possibility.
Waterford remains under a yellow weather warning at the moment.
