The unveiling of the Jubilee Memorial Garden at Central Avenue, Lisduggan took place this morning (Saturday).
Metropolitan Mayor Councillor Jason Murphy was in attendance. A large crowd gathered for the special event despite inclement conditions.
The project was undertaken by members of Larchville/Lisduggan Residents Association in collaboration with Waterford City & County Council.
John Burns, Chairperson of the Residents' Association, says the garden further enhances the community's amenities.
"We have so many clubs - the GAA club, soccer club, pigeon club, boxing club, karate club, the Manor St John Youth Services. We're like a little village within an estate."
Meanwhile, Sinn Féin Councillor John Hearne outlined some ongoing projects in the local area to WLR.
"We have funding from the Healthy Communities fund for our next phase," he explains.
"Painting and planting takes place in Francis Court every year. Over the years we've seen great progress throughout the parish. This area is a great place to live."
