Two Waterford stores will be revamped as part of an €11 million investment by Tírlán.

The co-op, formerly known as Glanbia, has begun a process of revamping its 52 local stores around the country.

The stores and garden centres in Kilmeaden and Dungarvan will be revamped as part of the second phase in the next couple of years.

Speaking to WLR News, Grace O'Dwyer from Tírlán outlines why they decided to undertake these upgrades.

"We're a 100 per cent farmer owned co-operative and communities are at the heart of who we are as a business," she said.

"This is a really sizeable investment that signifies not only our commitment to those local communities but also to  improving the experience our customers are having and to meet their evolving needs within those stores."

As part of phase 2, she said both the Kilmeaden and Dungarvan stores will receive a "really sizeable investment".
