Landmarks and buildings across the country will light up blue and pink later to remember babies who've died.
The Wave of Light will get underway at 7 o'clock this evening, to show the impact of miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal death on parents.
Two buildings in Waterford will be participating - University Hospital Waterford and City Square Shopping Centre.
Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day and Feileacáin coordinator Nina Doyle says candles will be lit at the event:
"It's starting at 7pm this evening and we're inviting everyone to light a candle in remembrance of all babies gone too soon.
"And also, there will be buildings lighting up so, if they would like to take photos and share those photos on social media, they can use the hastag #FeileacanWaveOfLight."
Formed in 2009, Féileacáin was set-up by a group of bereaved parents to offer support to anyone affected by the death of a baby around the time of birth.
The organisation is now the national charity supporting families affected by perinatal loss and is a volunteer-led group that receives no funding from central government.
"It's so important to raise awareness," Nina continued, "and to let people know how proud we are to be parents of our babies.
"We want to celebrate their existance and celebrate the fact that we have become parents.
"Buildings lighting up is just so symbolic."
