Tributes are being paid to the young woman who died in yesterday's crash near Kilmacthomas.

22-year-old Shauna McGrath from Abbeyside, Dungarvan was the driver of a car that collided with a truck on the N25 near Faha.

A midwife in University Hospital Waterford, she was returning from a night-shift at the time of the accident.

She was very involved in her local community and a member of Abbeyside Camogie.

In a post on their social media today, the club says Shauna was a "beautiful, talented young girl taken too soon."

She was a "teammate, friend, girlfriend, daughter, and sister."

Shauna was also part of the Waterford U16B All-Ireland winning team in 2015 and Waterford Camogie have extended their deepest sympathies to her family and friends.

The exact cause of the fatal crash is still being determined.

Sergeant Deirdre O'Neill has told WLR News that they want to hear from anyone who might have been travelling that road around the time it happened:

"It was around 8am and there is an investigation ongoing. We're appealing to any witnesses who were in the area, or anyone who may have dash-cam footage, to contact Tramore Garda Station on 051 391620.

"And we would also like to offer our sympathies to the family of the young woman."
