A 34-year-old Waterford man charged with the murder of 47-year-old Gillian Curran has been refused high court bail.
Marcus O'Neill, O'Brien Street, Waterford appeared via videolink from Cloverhill Prison today, February 25th, where he has been on remand in connection with his alleged role in the Tramore woman's murder.
Mr. O'Neill is represented by solictor Mr. Ken Cunningham, and is eligible for legal aid.
Mr. Cunningham told Waterford District Court, presided over by Judge Kevin Staunton that a high court application for bail was refused yesterday.
There are, as yet, no directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to the case, however it was confirmed by Mr. Cunningham that the file was received by the DPP yesterday. It is his understanding that proceedings are now at an advanced stage.
Mr O' Neill will appear again via videolink from Cloverhill Prison on March 11.
