A local family has raised €900 for local charity Juniors for Juniors through woolly gonk creations.
Molly and Fionn O'Driscoll from Tramore, together with their mum and dad made hundreds of gonks to raise much-needed funds.
Initially intending to hit a target of 40 gonks handmade from balls of wool, the final tally was in excess of 200.
Molly sat each day at the kitchen table making gonks, and her brother Fionn donated all of his tooth-fairy money.
Both Molly and Fionn also donated any pocket money they earned.
The O'Driscoll family were among those in attendance at the Juniors for Juniors Teddy Bear Hospital last Saturday in SETU.
Local charity Juniors for Juniors is set to open a new sensory room shortly in the paediatric ward at University Hospital Waterford.
The total cost for such a resource is in the region of €30,000, including mobile resources also.
Speaking to WLR in SETU, Joe Daly from Juniors for Juniors said efforts such as those seen from Molly and Fionn reinforce the personal, community-focused heart of the charity.
