In 2024, Tramore Eco Group made significant strides in local environmental conservation by distributing 1,400 trees to the community. They also worked to protect the town's dunes through Marram grass planting and repurposed discarded Christmas trees for additional dune protection. The group continued their commitment to regular environmental upkeep through their weekly beach cleanups.

Repak’s Pakman Awards are held annually and celebrate Ireland’s recycling and waste management champions who lead the way in their commitments to sustainability and the environment. Winning a Pakman Award is one of the highest accolades an organisation, company, community group or individual can receive for their environmental and waste management efforts.

The 2024 Pakman Awards saw representatives from leading businesses and community groups come together to recognise excellence in recycling and waste management. All category winners on the night were automatically put forward for the Overall Pakman Award, which was won by Soltec (Ireland) Ltd.

Zoe Kavanagh, CEO of Repak, praised the winners and emphasised Waterford’s significant contributions to environmental sustainability at the Pakman Awards, stating: “This year’s entries were some of the most innovative and impactful we’ve seen. Waterford-based initiatives like Tramore Eco Group are setting an outstanding example and leading the way toward a more sustainable future. Their success is a testament to the county’s commitment to environmental innovation and resourcefulness”
