A plan has been submitted to build 20 bungalows beside a proposed nursing home in Tramore.
The Queen of Peace Nursing Home, adjacent to Tramore Golf Club is set to be completed by November of this year.
An application has now been submitted by Kilkenny Investment Property Holdings Ltd to construct 20 bungalows at the same site.
The proposal plans to establish 20 independent-living residential units - fourteen of which would be two-bed, four of which would be one-bed and another two-bed end-terraced bungalows. Planning permission is also being sought for various internal roadways and footpaths, a pedestrian security gate for the complex as well as drainage and site ancillary works.
Planning permission had previously been granted for 26 houses at the site, but was never acted upon. The site proposed for the housing development does include part of a green area which had initially been intended to serve the nursing home.
It has been acknowledged that the homes would be primarily earmarked for elderly people, with a decision on the proposal due to be reached on the week of February 24th.
