A man in his 50s has been charged in connection to a serious assault which occurred in Tramore, County Waterford on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred at the Clarinwood Roundabout at 11am on April 27th, and a man in his 20s was seriously injured as a result of the attack.
The victim was taken to University Hospital Waterford with serious injuries while the man in 50s was arrested and held in Tramore Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
A statement from Gardai today noted that the man in custody has now been charged, and he will appear before the courts this afternoon.
"The man in his 50s arrested in connection with a serious assault incident in Tramore, County Waterford, on Wednesday, 27th April, 2022, has been charged and will appear before a special sitting of Gorey District Court on Friday, 29th April, 2022, at 3:30pm."
